We've been really busy recently so this is our first blog post in a while!

We are very pleased to say that our March Morningside Makers Market was our busiest event yet with an amazing 1300 visitors to the market!

Again, the first 50 visitors to the market received one of our Promotional Bags which were full of exhibitor promos and goodies. Among the free samples were cute fabric gift tags from Julia @ rosyjo, colourful fun badges from Emily @ florafauna and of course, our very own bunting flag key-rings!

We also made a point of handing out our very own mini Moo cards to each and every visitor on the day so that everyone knows to visit on the 1st Saturday of every month.

Thank you to all the exhibitors and visitors who made the March Makers Market such a great day!

Not only were we excited to see our advert in this month's edition of i-on Edinburgh magazine, we were also thrilled to discover that the lovely team at i-on had deemed our markets worthy of their 'Favourite Find' for February!

Other exciting news is that we have been approached by the contemporary fashion and design magazine - Selvedge - who are interested in featuring our March Makers Market!

We'd like to say a big thank you to all the exhibitors who helped make the very first Morningside Makers Market a great success! The feedback we have received has been fantastic and we are very much looking forward to the next market in March.

We quickly ran out of all the Promotional Bags we had prepared as the day got off to a busy start with even some visitors popping in before the market had even started!

Despite the not-so-nice weather, we had a fantastic turnout of visitors with over 750 people coming in to see what the Morningside Makers Market was all about! Thank you to everyone who visited on the day - we hope to see you all again next month!

The first Makers Market is now less than a week away and we have been very busy getting everything ready.

We spent most of last week creating the designs for our new advertising banners and we are very pleased with the results. Our new signage will include large photo banners, a-boards and a picket sign!

We have also been designing some new mini business cards (made by the lovely people at Moo) to promote the markets. Here is a sneak preview:

These will be available for visitors to take away with them and we will also be including them in our Promotional Bags attached to our very own handmade give-aways - fabric bunting flag key-rings!

This week, we will be putting the finishing touches to our design for some A6 photo postcards to advertise the markets, which will also be handed out to visitors.

Finally, remember to pick up your free copy of i-on Edinburgh magazine this week which will feature our half-page advert! In addition, the markets are now listed on The List website and we hope to be included in their magazine which is also out this week.

i-on Edinburgh is a free, glossy lifestyle magazine aimed at urban professionals in Edinburgh. Every month i-on offers readers articles and news on a host of topics, including fashion, health, beauty, food and drink, homes and interiors, travel, local businesses and events presented in a glossy, high quality format.

20,000 copies of i-on are distributed throughout Edinburgh in the top hotels, bars, restaurants, retail outlets and spas.

Look out for the February edition which will be available from the first week in February - just in time for the February Makers Market!

Promotional Bags

One of the ways we will be promoting the Morningside Makers Market is to give away Promotional Bags filled with goodies to the first lot of lucky customers on the day of each market. These bags not only promote the monthly markets but also promote the work of artists, crafters & designers. Our role is simply to ensure that these bags get into the hands of potential buyers.

We are delighted to have received an envelope full of these beautiful fabric buttons and colourful business cards from Katie @ stripykat. These will be a fantastic addition to the Promotional Bags and be sure to catch the eye of potential customers.

Rachel Elliott of Rachel Elliott Glassworks has also provided us with these specially made promotional postcards which look fantastic. These cards give the bearer 10% off any items at Rachel's stall at the Morningside Makers Market and can also be used on custom orders or class bookings.

Morningside Makers Market

The Morningside Makers Market is Edinburgh's new monthly boutique craft & design market.

Our aim is to add to Morningside's already established reputation as a favourite shopping destination by bringing a vibrant eclectic mix of craft & design to this beautiful area of town.

The home of the Makers Markets, which will be held on the first Saturday of every month, is the charming Columcille Centre on Newbattle Terrace, just off Morningside Road.

With thirty talented artists, crafters & designers showcasing their work at each market, shoppers will be sure to find a delightful selection of handmade crafts & original designs that simply cannot be found on the high street and with everything on offer from ceramics to jewellery, glassware to photography and textiles to art, be spoilt for choice.
